Meet Julie

My Story

Education is more than books and grades; it’s about shaping compassionate, confident leaders. As the daughter of a dedicated teacher, I watched my mom craft lessons late into the night to spark curiosity and kindness in her students. My own teachers at my high school transformed me; going from a self-doubting 9th grader to a university topper, while instilling in me a sense of civic responsibility that continues to guide me today.

Living in Plymouth for over 14 years, my husband Joseph and I are proud to raise our sons, Juan and Jayden, in Wayzata Public Schools. Here, I’ve seen the district’s vision— “inspiring each student to achieve their personal best”—come alive as teachers empower my boys to dream big and lead with purpose. This is the Wayzata experience, shared by families across our community.

Our schools are facing challenges that are evolving and dynamic — from ensuring safety in both physical and digital spaces, to supporting student mental health, addressing teacher burnout, and managing resources responsibly. These issues require thoughtful, forward-looking leadership that adapts as our world changes.

Inspired by my teachers and my sons’ educators, equipped with my corporate and volunteering experience, I am running for the Wayzata School Board to champion S.A.F.E priorities — putting Students First, Advancing Teachers, Fostering Equity & Opportunity, and Engaging the Community & Stewardship.

Join me in building a brighter future for our kids and a stronger community.
